Geri's Screenprinting LLC

Our founder, Geri Hilbig, was a talented seamstress who used her sewing abilities to create custom clothing from her home in San Bernardino, CA in the mid-1970’s. In 1976, she founded Geri’s Clothes Line. GCL was successful enough to hire its first employee in April, 1976. Shortly thereafter, Geri and her sister, Joanie Soldano, combined the custom clothing made by Geri’s Clothes Line with the screenprinting techniques of Joanie to create their first imprinted apparel line.

Sewing custom clothing became time-consuming and costly, so gradually in-house sewing was replaced by factory-made clothing while GCL took a new direction - becoming a decorated apparel (screenprinting) company. In 1980, GCL was moved from being a home-based business into a 1000 square foot building at 101 W. Benedict St. in San Bernardino, CA. In 1984, Geri’s Clothes Line changed its name to Geri’s Screenprinting to more accurately reflect the nature of the business. Business grew steadily in the early 1980’s and by 1984, the shop doubled to 2000 square feet.  Throughout the late 1980’s many changes took place including the gradual incorporation of computerized artwork processes that greatly enhanced the quality and efficiency of the designs we created.

In 1991, Russ Hilbig began working full-time for the company eventually becoming the General Manager.  By 1997, we had outgrown our location on Benedict Street and purchased a new 3500 square foot building at our present location of 624 W. Oak Ct.  in San Bernardino, CA. Rex Hilbig came to work for the company in sales, support and business consultation.  The company was expanding and hiring new support people to handle the growth in purchasing, sales and production.

In the new century, no longer confined to just screenprinted products, Geri’s has evolved to become a leading provider of embroidery, promotional products, signage, banners, labels and much more.  In the future we plan on exploring other new technologies including direct-to-garment printing. We are poised to capitalize on the successes of the past and take the company to greater heights in the future.
